1. The latest developments in wireless regulations
1. Singapore: IMDA bans registration of the SRD 698-806MHz band
Singapore ’s IMDA has revised the requirements of the band 698-806MHz (restricted band). From September 14, 2018, the official will no longer accept registration of this band (including new applications and updates of old applications). The equipment in the frequency band will not be sold after January 1, 2019.
Product registration can use the 470-698 MHz band.
 
2. Saudi Arabia: The Saudi Information Technology Commission issued new requirements for electronic tags
The Saudi Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced that the electronic label of mobile phones is included in the mandatory requirements. Since September 2018, all mobile phones must include the following electronic labels.

3. South Africa: ICASA will plan to adopt IMT850 radio spectrum allocation
South Africa ICASA held a public hearing on the draft IMT850 radio spectrum allocation plan (RFSAP) for the 825MHz to 830MHz and 870MHz to 875MHz bands from September 6 to 7, 2018. The final implementation of the IMT850 radio spectrum allocation plan will optimize the use of the 800MHz band in South Africa.
 
4. Oman: TRA new regulations
Oman TRA is considering changing the TRA certificate from permanent validity to limited validity period, the specific validity is to be determined;
Oman plans to use IPv6 network addresses.
 
5. India: TEC forces time delay
The Indian TEC issued an announcement on September 27, which delayed the mandatory time of TEC according to different products until January 1, 2019 and April 1, 2019 respectively. The mandatory time for mobile communication products was April 1, 2019.
 
6. Philippines: NTC updates UWB operating parameters / conditions
The Philippine National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) revised Sections 1 and 2 of Memorandum No. 03-05-2007, of which Memorandum No. 06-08-2018 updated the operating parameters / conditions of UWB communication equipment. The Philippines will only allow the use of UWB devices that are NTC type certified.
 
7. Ukraine: NCCIR changes to the registration of radio equipment
According to Ukraine's NCCIR Resolution 188, from June 26, 2018, the following categories of products need to be registered in NCCIR:
Radio equipment used for wireless positioning, except for GNSS satellite systems (such as GPS receiving equipment);
Radio equipment that uses two or more transceivers and can work in two or more frequency bands at the same time, with a transmission power greater than 100 milliwatts (such as: base stations, wireless access equipment, VHF radio stations, wireless phones, etc.);
PMR446 type VHF analog and digital radio stations (working frequency band 446-446.2MHz);
TV and radio transmission equipment with radiant power greater than 50 watts;
Radio equipment installed in the air and maritime equipment (for example: satellite base station, cellular base station, wireless access point);
The working frequency band is 5470MHz-5725MHz wireless access point for outdoor use.
  
8. Indonesia: SDPPI strengthens EMC test management
According to the latest requirements of SDPPI in Indonesia, EMC test is required when applying for SDPPI certificate
Test report, there are currently two options to choose from:
The official acceptance of EMC reports from overseas accredited laboratories is equivalent to the cost of using CE reports to apply for certificates (non-testing process);
Accredited EMC laboratories in Indonesia for testing. At present, there are only 2 EMC laboratories in Indonesia. Local testing will affect the SDPPI cycle and increase EMC testing costs accordingly.
 
Second, the latest developments in safety regulations
South Korea: Notice on the revision of KC battery product safety standards
The Korea Technical Standards Agency revised the safety standards for lithium batteries and added the following test items for batteries used in smartphones, laptops, and tablets.
(1) Overcurrent charging test (Cell);
(2) Vibration test (Pack);
(3) Impact test (Pack);
The announcement was formally implemented from the date of publication. The new and old standards will be implemented in parallel for one year, and the new standards will be mandatory until September 5, 2019.
 
Third, the latest developments in electromagnetic compatibility regulations
Korea: Korea Radio Research Institute Announces 2018-51
The Korea Radio Research Institute issued the 2018-51 announcement that the following home appliance products have increased EMF requirements and will be enforced on January 1, 2019.

a) electric stove; b) electric toaster; c) electric oven; d) electric frying pan; e) electric grill; f) portable electric grill; g) electric stove; h) electric grill; i) electric stove ; J) Waffle maker; k) Electric heater; l) Stove.
 

Fourth, the latest developments in energy efficiency regulations
India: Indian Energy Agency issued a notice on color television (No. BEE / S & L / CTV / 2 / 2018-19)
The current color TV star table (Table 2.2) will expire on December 31, 2018, and the new standard will take effect from January 1, 2019 (until December 31, 2020). Color TVs that have been registered with BEE must apply for renewal (retain the original star rating) or downgrade. It is only valid for renewal and downgrade from September 10, 2018 to December 31, 2018. If you cannot apply for renewal or downgrade within the prescribed time limit, the current star rating will be invalidated, and the applicant must apply for new model registration after the old standard expires.
